Requirements

An appropriate recognised 3 or 4 year higher education qualification and a teaching qualification ? At least 3-5 years’ experience as an educator in the technical and vocational education and training sector and 3 years managerial experience (minimum senior lecturer or education specialist) in this sector

Extensive knowledge of and insight into policy and legislation relating to technical and vocational education and training and the NQF ? Experience in teaching and assessment of Report 190/191 Engineering Studies and the National Certificates (Vocational) ? Knowledge and experience in the moderation / verification of national examinations and practical assessment will be a strong recommendation

The ability to conceptualise, do research, write reports, and formulate policies in terms of quality assurance of assessment will be required ? Computer literacy is compulsory ? A valid driver’s licence is essential ? The successful applicant must be dynamic, self-motivated, self-managing and possess good communication, interpersonal, facilitation and co-ordination skills.

Duties

The incumbent will be required to develop and implement appropriate quality assurance processes to ensure credible examinations / assessment systems ? The position will entail policy development and implementation ? Establishment and monitoring of quality assurance systems ? Quality assurance of assessment bodies and assessment processes, developing reports and monitoring improvement plans ? Recruitment, training and monitoring of external moderators

Monitoring the enforcement of updated quality assurance of assessment policies and directives ? Development, implementation and management of the quality assurance of internal and external assessment conducted in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training sector.
